Neil Donovan
Executive Director
Neil Donovan has been working with and for persons experiencing homelessness for the past twenty-six years in positions ranging from a street outreach worker to executive director. His previous work includes administering transitional housing programs for the Pine Street Inn in Boston , the largest homeless service agency in New England, and administering employment and community programs at the Shattuck Shelter in Boston . He also worked as Senior Advisor at the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness and was the first Director of the Center for Capacity Building at the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
Michael Stoops
Director of Community Organizing, Project Director for You Don’t Need a Home to Vote, and National Homeless Civil Rights Organizing Project
Since 1972, Mr. Stoops has been working full-time (primarily as a volunteer) with homeless/formerly homeless people and homeless advocacy groups. He was a founding board member of NCH, and joined NCH's staff in 1988. Since 1988, he has worked to establish and provide ongoing support to local/statewide homeless/housing coalitions, and homeless self-help and social justice/action groups. In 2004, Mr. Stoops took on the role of Executive Director of NCH. Working to mobilize NCH’s grassroots network, Mr. Stoops travels nationwide giving workshops, providing technical assistance, and testifying before state and local legislatures. Mr. Stoops is one of the founding members of the North American Street Newspaper Association and serves presently on its board of directors. He has a bachelor's degree in social work.
Michael O’Neill
Director, Faces of Homelessness Speaker’ Bureau
Michael O’Neill is a 2003 graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. Mr. O’Neill served at Stonehill College from July 2003-July 2004 as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in the Massachusetts Campus Compact program. He began working with the National Coalition for the Homeless in July 2004 as the Speakers Bureau Coordinator. He coordinates all the speaking engagements as well as serving as the moderator of the panels. Mr. O’Neill conducts all of the recruiting for the Speakers’ Bureau and serves as the staff contact for all speakers. He has been involved in homelessness issues, volunteering at soup kitchens, food banks, urban plunge’s, Habitat for Humanity, clothing and food drives, fundraisers and other events to help end homelessness for over 8 years.
Megan Hustings
Development Director
Megan Hustings is a 2001 graduate of Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. Ms. Hustings is a long time volunteer and activist for the anti-poverty movement, having worked for community clinics, a free book program, Habitat for Humanity, among other organizations from grade school to the present. She has provided case management and life-skills training for individuals with developmental disabilities, and managed electronic journal and database subscriptions for university libraries. Ms. Hustings spent a year’s term as an AmeriCorps*VISTA with NCH before moving into the Development Director position. She maintains relationships with donors as well as coordinating NCH’s ongoing fundraising efforts.
